Helping skilled immigrants do what they do best!
We would like to invite you to be a part of Mentoring Connections, a dynamic initiative from Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISSofBC) that brings together YOU, a talented BC teacher, and a new immigrant in your field.

Newly arrived skilled immigrants bring rich professional and life experiences to Canada. However, with limited local industry knowledge and connections their professional start in a new country can be a daunting challenge. As a mentor, you can make a tremendous difference in the life of your mentee by offering advice on Canadian workplace culture, networking opportunities, job search techniques and technical English vocabulary specific to the teaching industry in BC.

Who is a Mentoring Connections mentor?
- You have at least 5 years of experience in the teaching industry;
- You value diversity and are interested in learning about other cultures;
- You are a successful Vancouver-area professional who is always looking for ways to teach, learn and grow;
- You are available meet for 2-4 hours per month, for a minimum of 3 months with one mentee.

Our program continually has internationally-trained teachers referred to us with diverse professional backgrounds, looking for a volunteer mentor in their field. To find out how you or someone you know can help, please contact Catherine Rana at Mentoring Connections at 604.637.1307 ext. 1285 or catherine.rana@issbc.org.

We are excited to be working with Teachers Without Borders Canada, and look forward to hearing from you soon!
