Education Beyond Borders

Engage, Educate, Empower

This is an excellent video that questions current systems of schools across the globe in terms of how low they rank creative subjects to the core subjects, such as math, science and language. Why is that we do not treat arts as equally important?

As a science/chemistry teacher I recognize the importance of creativity in scientific disciplines and so I find this video to be very thought provoking - I am pleased to hear that the College of Education is using it in Saskatchewan. I especially like the point that Sir Ken Robinson makes about "kids who have to move to think" and being once one of those kids myself, I really the feel his message in this video.

This Sir Ken Robinson video excerpt is currently being used as a resource at the College of Education in Saskatchewan. It was and continues to be an awakening to the joy of learning if a teacher is creative.
